- Dialog Semiconductor

Dialog Semiconductor commissioned Argon Design to develop a system to test and demonstrate a new range of novel, low power, display interface ICs for the next generation of 2D/3D and Passive Matrix OLED displays for mobile phones and hand held devices.

Argon Design proposed a two part solution using a base board running a customised port of the Android operating system, with multiple interchangeable daughter boards tailored to each display type. By using the Android OS, Dialog are able to demonstrate the performance effect of their ICs across a wide variety of mobile applications and platforms.
Mark Hopgood, Director of Strategic Marketing and Business Development for Dialog, commented that:
“Argon Design has impressed us with the high quality of their work and their commitment to our incredibly short timescales. The demonstrator systems have been very well received by our customers; they demonstrate the advantages of Dialog’s technology and have helped us to win substantial new business opportunities ”.
- StarLeaf
As an innovative technology start-up, StarLeaf recognised the importance of minimising time to market and reducing risk during the product development process. They also needed to extend their product range faster than they could recruit their own in house development team.

StarLeaf’s solution was to select Argon Design to develop their Group Telepresence system, which forms a key component in their recently announced voice and video solution for enterprise communications, see http://starleaf.com/products/starleaf-group-telepresence.
Working from StarLeaf’s initial product brief, Argon Design were able to create a detailed product specification and take this through all stages of development to a completed solution ready for volume manufacture.
Argon Design’s multi discipline team managed the whole project; providing the schematic and PCB designs, FPGA design, multicore software for test and the basic operating framework, production and test of the prototype units.
At the heart of the system is the TilePro64 from Tilera Corp, which provides a multicore processing engine running an embedded version of Linux. This interfaces with multiple High Definition video input and output streams through a Virtex 5 FPGA.
Mark Richer, Chairman of StarLeaf, was delighted with this collaboration:
“Argon Design have provided a first class product development service for StarLeaf. Their attention to detail and commitment to the project have contributed to the successful launch of our Telepresence solution”.
- UltraSoC Technologies
"As a developer of cutting-edge silicon intellectual property UltraSoC Technologies have used Argon Design on various projects where timely delivery of high quality design services has been of paramount importance. They have delivered every time and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to any organisation in the embedded system or SoC space."
Karl Heeks, CEO UltraSoC Technologies
